Who do I hire to install my Boxx and what other costs will be in my budget?

Boxx Installation in Progress

Boxx’s base price includes all the materials to build and finish your Boxx and our design services to help you select your finishes and make design upgrade decisions. We call this the Boxx Model Kit. With your Boxx Model Kit, you can DIY the project, hire a local contractor to install it, or let us install it if you are within an hour and a half drive from our Wilton, CT offices. In all cases, you will need to have a local electrician involved. Sitework (including bringing power and internet service to your Boxx and all foundation work) must be completed before delivery of your Boxx Model Kit. Boxx can act as your Owner’s Rep to help guide you through the process.

The electrician will be responsible for:

  • bringing power and internet service to your Boxx

  • running all electrical and data circuits through our pre-cut electrical chases

  • installing the electric panel

  • installing all electrical boxes

  • installing all electrical and lighting trims

  • connecting all HVAC systems

You or your contractor should get an estimate for this work in advance. We will provide all necessary drawings.

If you are DIY’ing your Boxx or hiring a contractor to install your Boxx, you or they will need to:

  • Build foundation and deck framing (not included in the Boxx Model Kit) before delivery

  • Unload all delivered materials

  • Erect SIP structure and wrap with moisture barrier

  • Install Pella windows and doors

  • Install exterior siding and trim

  • Install roofing

  • Install decking

  • Install wall and ceiling finishes and trim

  • Install flooring

  • Install HVAC Systems

Boxx will provide detailed plans to help you with each step and can act as your Owner’s Rep. You or your contractor will need to hire a local electrician to perform all needed electrical work.

If we install your Boxx, we will provide a seamless assembly, from foundation to HVAC installation. Unfortunately, we can only provide this service directly to projects within an hour and a half from our base in Wilton, CT.

In all cases, Boxx will provide drawings and advice to help with the assembly of your Boxx. If we are acting as your Owner’s Rep, we can review estimates, inspect work completed, and advise on payments.
