Exercise Snacks in Your Boxx

You have room in here for exercise snacks!

One of the best parts of working from home is the ability to work out! There is no question that less time on the commute means more time to stay in shape. Sure you can go for a walk or slip out to the gym during lunch, but your own office gives you the space and privacy for exercise snacks.

An exercise snack is a micro workout for a brief period, say ten minutes or so. This little break in the day requires very little preparation or even an outfit change. As long as you stand up and do something like a set of squats, some arm work with bands or weights, or a series of stretches on a yoga mat, you are taking an exercise snack.

We sit too much on any given day so putting these breaks on your calendar benefits mind, body, and spirit. Stretch your hips and shoulders with a quick yoga routine, Yoga With Adrienne has target zones and classes ranging from ten to sixty minutes.

Another helpful idea is to stand up during a phone call and walk back and forth in your Boxx. You have the room for steps from the door to the desk. Or, balance on one foot and then the other. You need to engage your core, back, and glutes to stay upright. No crazy poses, just pick up a foot.

Here are a couple of items to keep in a basket by your desk or stashed on a low shelf of a bookcase.

Weights - Pump a little iron!

Yoga Mat - Roll it out and take care of those tight shoulders and hips!

Resistance bands - Stretch and work your muscles!

Jump rope - Step outside and try to build to 10 minutes!

Bluetooth Speaker - Exercise snacks are always better with pump-up jams!
