Boxx Studio as the Ultimate Writer’s Nook

Writers need uninterrupted time to create, draft, and edit their work. Writers are often asked about their writing process, and the answer is often something like “Get up at 5 am and write for two hours before anyone else wakes up!” If anyone could benefit from a Boxx backyard studio, professional writers would be near the top of the list. This office space separates the writer from the home creating a distraction-free zone, with all the creature comforts of home just a few steps away.

A Boxx studio as a writer's nook fulfills several other important attributes. There is plenty of natural light with the big, floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding door. Ceiling lighting is controllable for task needs. There are ample outlets and WiFi in the Boxx for the setup of a computer, multiple screens, and any other tech tools that might be important.

A Model C has enough square footage for a desk, shelves and a comfy chair and an ottoman, or a small sofa. There are two distinct places to work, at the desk or in the chair with a laptop. It is important that the desk setting is ergonomic for long typing sessions. Some writers start with pen and paper, there is plenty of room to stretch out and write in a notebook as well.

However you write, there is space to keep tools of the trade organized. If a stack of sharpened pencils and a pile of Moleskin notebooks is the starting place for a novel, add a set of shelves for those tools. If a printer and reams of paper for daily edits are what works, there is space for that as well. Keeping a dictionary, thesaurus, or style guides accessible can be helpful for quick advice.

Decorate a writing space with items for inspiration and motivation. This could include plants, artwork, photographs, motivational quotes, or objects related to writing projects or favorite authors. Keep a selection of reference materials relevant to a specific writing genre or general interests nearby. And, if music or a scented candle helps fire up the creative juices, a small coffee table or a side table would fit in the Boxx writer’s studio.

Creating an ideal writer's studio or writing nook can greatly enhance creativity and productivity. The goal is to create an environment that promotes focus, creativity, and productivity, allowing for total immersion into writing projects.
