Necessary Features of a Backyard Art Studio

Whether your art is a personal passion or a business, a Boxx backyard studio is a perfect space for making your art. There are a few essentials for an art space and Boxx fulfills those requirements. For fun, we used StarryAi.com to create some art for this post!

First of all, great lighting is really important. Each box has a window wall to allow plenty of natural light to flood in. A skylight - or the option to add 2 skylights in a Model F - adds overhead natural lighting. The overhead lights are adjustable LED lights. Good light is important for seeing colors in different types of lighting.

The right amount of space to move around any equipment, tools, and materials is key for comfort. A Model S might be tight if you are setting up easels and tables but would be a perfect spot for sewing, knitting, or writing. A Model C was perfect for a pottery studio, and a Model F has room for a lot of equipment!

Good airflow, or ventilation, is going to be necessary if you have paint fumes or anything that gives off an odor. There is a sliding door with screens on each model and the AC unit can also be switched to fan or exhaust mode, even in the winter!

The interior walls can be your own personal “Inspo Zone.” If you want to hang a bulletin board or put up a whiteboard, or if you want to thumb-tack mood boards or swatches to the wall, that works too.

You might need a set of shelves or some storage space for your tools and finished products. This will fit! A Boxx studio is a space where you can lock the door on your way out and you don’t have to worry about kids or pets getting into your projects.

Depending on which Boxx Model and the artistic pursuit, there should be room for a comfortable chair to rest up or to have a think. Overall, an art studio should be a functional and inspiring space that fosters creativity and provides a comfortable and safe environment for the artist and we believe a Boxx backyard studio delivers!
