Boxx Model C - Office and Workout Space for a Financial Specialist
As we started a meeting with this potential customer to discuss the Boxx Model C, two adorable children enthusiastically bounded down the stairs to say hello to their father. Thanks to that serendipitous moment, we knew exactly why this customer was eager to learn more about Boxx backyard office pods. He worked remotely and his work-from-home setup was on the lower level of his home. His frequent visitors were great at quitting time, but a bit disruptive during meetings.
We designed his Boxx Model C, addressing his needs for a comfortable workspace that doubled as the perfect workout spot for his Peleton bike. His goal for the project was to have a separate personal work and fitness space in the backyard so that the basement could be turned back into a playroom for the kids. The client approved the final rendering after a few design iterations and looking at samples for colors and texture.

Trevor Huffard and the contractor visited the site. They worked with the plot plan to settle on the actual spot where the foundation and electrical trench would be finished ahead of the office studio kit’s arrival for assembly.
One benefit to working with our precision prefabricated SIPs is the speed of assembly. By mid-afternoon, the SIPs were removed from the truck and fully assembled, ready for door and window installation. The SIPs had been precut and routed for the air conditioner pass-thru, the electrical chases for wires, and the cutouts for the outlets, lights, and electrical panel. The other big perk of using SIPs is that upon set up, the office studio pod interior and exterior walls were ready for cladding and the unit was fully insulated!
Once the roof was on, the windows and doors were installed and the structure was wrapped for further protection.
The exterior cladding was a combination of materials, including two colors of ATAS Opaline™ running horizontally on the facia and wing walls and NewTechWood Norwegian profile cladding running vertically on the Boxx itself. The colors and styling really popped on the finished Boxx!
The exterior and interior lights, along with the heating and cooling systems are WiFi enabled and controlled from the client’s phone. He has moved his desk and Peleton in and replaced a few plantings. We have been told that more furniture is on the way and his meetings are a bit quieter outside the kid zone! A perfect space to Think (and Exercise) Inside the Boxx.
