There are five distinct phases in the design process of your She Shed Living Edition from Boxx and this timeline will help you prepare.

Pre-Design

Upon selection of the Boxx model, you will work with your local building department to secure all necessary permits. We will provide you with the information for this permitting process. You should hire your local area general contractor and electrician who both have some key foundational work to complete ahead of delivery. Our team is here to help you through this process and will function as the Owner’s Representative in the construction process with your general contractor and electrician. With the Boxx design team, you will discuss the foundation development and options for HVAC, interior, and exterior finishes. We estimate the design process will take between two to four weeks.

Final Boxx Design Development

Once you have secured your building permits, you will work with our team to finalize your interior and exterior finishes. As you select materials, colors, and other options, we will provide you with a final quote. This process should take approximately one week. We ask for a 50% deposit at this time and we will immediately start ordering materials. Typically, the windows and doors are the longest lead time materials with a 6-8 week wait time.

Site Work & Fabrication

Plan on a period of 6-10 weeks once the design phase is completed for your Boxx delivery. During this time, you and your contractor will prep your site with a stable foundation and bring power and the internet from your home. We recommend starting by week four so that everything is ready when we arrive.

She Shed Living Interior Design Consultation

The She Shed Living design team will help you with furniture selection for your interior layout to maximize your usable space. Whether you are using your Boxx for work, for art, for exercise, or for a combination of uses, the design team can make some product recommendations.

Delivery & Installation

We will arrive on-site with everything ready to assemble. The remaining balance is due prior to delivery. Our team will assist your local contractor in assembling the Boxx on the foundation. We estimate that within two weeks, the Boxx will be ready for use provided that your contractor and electrician are available and the preparatory work is completed before our arrival.
